2ND INTERNATIONAL ACADEMIC CONFERENCE Drukuj Email

Business and Administration School of E. Kwiatkowski in Gdynia, Helena Chodkowska University of Management and Law in Warsaw and Warsaw Customs and Logistics College have the pleasure to invite academic workers and everybody interested in higher education issues to the conference entitled “Higher Education in Poland and the European Union – present condition and prospects of development”.
The aim of the conference is an attempt to collect research findings concerning higher education in Poland and other European Union countries in order to establish prospects of development in the nearest years.
The conference will take place in Karlskrona (Sweden) on September 15-18, 2010, with a ferry trip from Gdynia to Karlskrona and back. For more information please look at the following:

ERASMUS STAFF MOBILITY Drukuj Email

On 10-14 May 2010 the School was receiving guests from Todor Kableshkov University of Transport in Bulgaria. Our guests gave lectures from the field of transport and economics, in a foreign language, to the students of Management. It was also a good opportunity to present the profile of this University to our students. One of the guests was an Expert from the University Computer Center, what gave us also the possibility of exchange of experiences on the information technology solutions for higher education.

ERASMUS TEACHER EXCHANGE Drukuj Email

On January 29-31 2010 we had another pleasure of hosting dr Maher Asal – lecturer at the Department for Economics and Informatics of the University West in Sweden. Dr Asal conducted lectures on finance for our students at the Faculty of Finance and Accounting and Faculty of Management. University West is our partner in the Erasmus Programme and we are hoping to continue and to broaden our cooperation in the following years.

We warmly invite all students to a party celebrating the end of the 2007/08 academic year, which will take place on June 4th for the day students, and on July 5th for the extra-mural students. The Party begins at 20.00 in the Bulaj Club (Sędzickiego 19, at the Boulevard) – bring your student cards!

On May 24-27, we hosted Dr Maher Asal, from the University West (Sweden). Dr Asal held guest lectures in the Corporate Finance and Financial Markets courses. BAS in Gdynia has recently begun co-operation with University West, and we hope to extend it to student and staff exchange, research and other forms of academic collaboration.
 
Hawaiian Costume Party Drukuj Email
On May 7th, in the Tropican Island Club in Sopot, we held a Hawaiian Costume Party. The organizers – the Student Parliament of BAS – invited students, faculty and staff to celebrate together. A few hundred people partied successfully from 20.00 until the morning hours!

On 18-21 June 2008, Business and Administration School in Gdynia is organising a scientific conference entitled: "Non-state Education in Poland and the European Union - present condition and prospects of development." We would again like to invite everyone interested in this topic, to take part in this event. The Conference is a part of the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the foundation of BAS, and is patroned by the Minister of Science and Higher Education, prof. Barbara Kudrycka.

Safety Management - Challenges of the 21st Century Drukuj Email
The first International Conference “Safety Management – Challenges of the 21st Century” took place in Kazimierz Dolny near Warsaw on 26-27 March 2008. The Conference was co-organised by BAS in Gdynia, and by our sister school, the University of Management and Law in Warsaw.
Four main panels of the Conference were dedicated to:
- Threats and strategies in safety management
- Diagnoses and prognoses for system solutions in safety management
- Management in institutions responsible for safety assurance
- Safetyy in the main activity of scientific and academic institutions
 
Guest Lectures in E-Business Drukuj Email
On 10-15 March 2008, we had the pleasure of hosting Dr Durmus Yoruk, Professor of Management at the Afyon Kocatepe University, in Turkey. For our undergraduate and graduate students, Dr Yoruk gave guest lectures entitled "Critical Success Factors of online Stores in Turkey", in which he presented theory and practice of e-commerce, and results of research into the development of online stores in Turkey. Dr Yoruk also gave guest lectures at the Maritime Academy in Gdynia and the University of Gdansk.

Business and Administration School in Gdynia invites entrepreneurs and employees to take part in an additional series of EU-subsidised post-graduate courses within the network project co-ordinated by the “Education for Entrepreneurship” Association. Three additional editions of the following programmes will take place:

Conference on Management in Education Drukuj Email
Conference entitled “Modern management in education” took place at BAS on 18 February, 2008. 60 participants, mainly directors of local secondary schools, took part, debating about standards of modern management in education, development paths for secondary school graduates, problems and conflict issues with teenage youth, the role and participation of parentsa, scholarships for pupils and students, and funding for educational projects from EU structural funds.
